About Us

I have been in the field of social work since 2002 and began working as a therapist while a graduate student at Columbia University School of Social Work. Currently, I work as the Associate Clinical Director for an employee assistance program where I do assessments and referrals, short term therapy and crisis intervention, intensive case management for fitness-for-duty evaluation and case coordination with disability providers. I also recently worked as a weekend psychotherapist at a community mental health facility where I provided psychotherapy to all ages from 4 years to 75 years with a range of presenting issues. I believe in the special genius within each individual to solve their problems if given empathic support and guidance in a safe environment. I believe that people are incredibly resilient and respect each individual’s beliefs and journey. My style is active and collaborative. I use evidence based practices to treat conditions and draw from a variety of methodologies including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques. I often use homework assignments, reading, and journaling in between sessions to make the best use of each session.

Because I believe in lifelong learning, I keep informed in evidenced based practices and continually enhance my skills and knowledge by attending regular seminars on various topics. I keep current with journals and trade publications to be in tune with the latest research and findings.
